The forums on bp6.com haven't been the fastest in the world but reading the forums this morning was an exercise in frustration. It was almost like my xDSL connection was turned into a 56kbit modem and sometimes the pages wouldn't respond at all.
Does anybody else the same problem? Derek, I assume that you are using Mysql for data storage. Is it optimised for the size of the database/hardware you are using?
bp6.com slowing down??

I also notice (Derek) that when I post an update / new post, I can't read another post either
until the new post is in, the board is busy reorganising.
think Derek (maybe another board all together even) said something about having to mark the thread for all the users who want to know about it, and sending emails....
housekeeping takes a while.
perhaps if 'everyone' stopped watching every thread and just looked at unread messages now and then, it might be a bit faster. (?)

The board was slow in Feb when I signed up then our GREAT ADMINISTRATOR did some magic that gave it "FAST POSTING ABILITY" as noted in the Longest Thread.
I have experienced more sluggishness lately but it seems to come and go. Right now the board is quicker then anytime in the last couple weeks.
We are having an increasing problem at work with adware/pornware. I even had a virus get past my NAV at home. Guess its time for me to switch to Lunix for accessing the Information Super Highway, at home at least where I have some sayso.(I hope my daughter(14yrs) lets me make that change.)

There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

I don't want to complain about anything either, it was just so strange that yesterday it just seemed slow down to a crawl. I am used to the long times it takes to post and that is fine with me but even reading stuff yesterday was almost impossible. It is better now though so it seems to vary a bit.
I intend to turn off the mailing thing since I do visit almost every day and sometimes even more than once a day. I don't need to be notified by mail I guess, especially if it is killing performance.
