WOW. That's big. And notice it's only talking about microdrives in MP3 players... Imagine regular desktop harddrives. (Unless that's already been done or something).
One thing that bothers me though:
Why do people need that much space on a portable media device? Although I don't listen to and collect music like many people do, 30 00 songs in one place seems a bit overboard. 1) does anyone really have 30 000 songs and, 2) what happens when your device gets stolen or broken?
I know you don't have to fill the thing with just music, but I still think that much space is unnecessary. Couldn't that much space also lead more people into music piracy?
I don't know how factual my thoughts are, but you gotta admit, that's a lot of space.

i got a medion 1gb mp3 player from my local supermarket for £26 quid

it has an sd card slot also

it got loads of tracks on there and i can use it as a handy portable
data store

being an it enginer its usefull to have the option to store a lot of data in a simpe and portable format

and for 25 pounds it was a bargin
