Unlocking Multiplier
I'm afraid there is no way to unlock the multiplier.

the celeron core's from 366 to 533 are the same, the only difference is the multiplier

there is a way to unlock the multiplier, but the tools required to do so are insanely costly. intel for awhile has made it much much harder to unlock multipliers especially compared to amd where older athlons just needed some trace work.
if you care for an unlocked multiplier, spend a bit extra when you buy processors and pick up an engineering sample (or take one from a friend who works for intel or amd)

Maybe this'll make up for it. A pretty comprehensive article on multiplier-locking.

think about it
what celeron can go over 600mhz?
not many, not even the 500's
if the 500's or the 533's had unlocked multipliers, they'd be jsut the same as the 300's to the 466's
there is no difference except the multiplier is locked

It's pretty funny really - the best overclocking CPUs (that people want to most) are the slowest ones because of the low multiplier, which is exactly why they're cheap. And, with overclocking the CPUs that achieve the most performace will be the ones that run the slowest (because they can run on a higher FSB).
Still kicking along with the Abit BP6
exactly
