Hi
I'm new to this forum and to the world of BP6 boards.
I run 2 cel. 400mhz @ default speed, 2 x 128mb ram, 2mb pci graphic, nic. The system boots fine, and I can enter BIOS. Temps look ok, 30-32c idle, but I get shutdowns after 10-30 sec when idling in bios? I tried to boot on an pre-installed drive, got the same result?
It shuts itself of for no reason what so ever....
I would like to read though the whole forum, but I haven't got the time:) any quick fixes, or possible solutions, or things I could try out
Regards

check the caps. look for bulging or leaking.
if you can get the MBM and check the voltages.
you surely have a hardware problem somewhere

There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.
No BP6s remaining

caps are ok, no visible defects. Power button is not stuck bc there is no powerbutton. I just *touch* the power-on pins with a screwdriver to power up
right now I only these things connected:
mobo (lays on table)
graphics (old AGP)
hd (win xp preinstall)
ram (128mb apacer)
keyboard/mouse
I will boot up fine, reach the win xp load screen and then shut down!
If I only boot into bios and leaves it there it also shuts down after a while.
Temps are 30-32c on the cpus(in bios), voltages are within +/- 5% = ok, all setting in bios are default

If that power cord thing doesn't do the trick for you maybe you need to swap the psu. If there is a weakness in the psu...Windows is a power hog while booting up, but it might take a while to overheat a weak regulator when you are just looking at the BOIS. Does it smell funny?
Try a different one psu.

well even with one cpu in, it still does this. I've tried one in each socket, one in the "left" socket, one in the "right" socket.
The psu is a 16A @ 12v
tried 3 different cords now
I gonna try with another pci graphic-card soon, maybe the AGP port has some issues. Bc it looks like with no graphiccard it doesn't do this :/

psu is a 450w unit
well I did get into windows once, actualy tonight.
on boot I entered bios, set cpu to user define, 66mhz/6x multiplier, 2/3on AGP and it booted?!? This was with one cpu in the board! It ran windows for ~1 min after boot.
Tried with 2 cpus = no luck. Got to post, and then it shut down.
