Problems with BOINC?

Post by alnielsen »

My queue ran out of work units and was sitting idle. To find out what was going on I went to setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/ap and got no reply. Then went to boinc.ssl.berkeley.edu and was able to access that page but that gives no information. Nor does the boards at SETI@Home. Anybody know anything about this?

The web site is back up - Update core software to ver3.07

Post by alnielsen »

After I got to work this morning, I checked and I was able to access the web site. I didn't check the computer I use for BOINC to see if it downloaded units this morning. I will check later today.
Also the required core software is 3.07. You can't download new units to process if you are running a previous version. This was updated 6/1.

We have just released BOINC CC 3.18 to Beta, please upgrade as soon as possible.
BOINC Beta Test is temporarily shut down for maintenance. Please try again later.
erk... :umm:

I went back to using classic seti at the weekend due to loads of problems with boinc recently. :invi_wink:

I can't stand boinc
too many silly problems and no central queueing.
no following preferences.
can't figure out how fast my cpu is
thinks 7.5 hours, takes 15 hours, still, 6 days of wus is therefore 10 and too many
find preferences
changing computer names
dammit, it's just
ugh......
