Hi!

If you can't install from the CD, you can copy the i386(not the subfolders) folder of your WinXP cd onto the hd and run winnt.exe from dos disk to install WinXP.

But if you change the HAL, it can screw up your Windows installation! But when you install Windows you can select the HAL by pressing the F5 key at the beginning(when Windows asks you if you want to install install a 3rd party SCSI or RAID driver)! Maybe this should be in the FAQ because i saw many ...

Lindows is a normal Linux with WINE included. So you need the Geforce Linux Drivers, i think you'll get them on Nvidias website. Wine isn't able to run many Windows based programs, you can check software/hardware which runs under Lindows here.

Yes hotflashing is when you boot up a running system and then put a damaged bios chip in to flash it. Did you tried the good bios in the dead board ???

Hi!

Put the bios chip from the working one into the no video mobo. If it works then you know your bios is damaged. You can do a hotflash with one mobo to get both chips working.

Hi!

You can try to change your HAL to ACPI-Multiprocessor, but maybe this will screw up W2k and you have to reinstall. You can change it in the Device manager -> Computer. Change it to ACPI Multiprocessor. Surely you have to enable ACPI in the BIOS first.

Bye.

No, this can't be the error...you have to activate/register it yourself after the installation. So you can install and use an already activated WinXP for 14 days.

I don't know if this works with the newer build of Longhorn, but the M3 build, it was the first version that was leaked you could use a Win2k3Server RC Key to activate it.
