I have run Fedora Core 3 and 4 on my BP6s. I don't recall any ACPI/APM problems. I have ACPI and APM both turned ON in the BIOS. I can reload Fedora Core 4 on one of them, if you want me to.

If the end of a private water hose is next to a public sidewalk and the water is running, is it OK to take a drink of water? Is it OK to fill up your 10 gallon water container?

If you left the keys in your car, and your front door open on your house, and your WI-FI totally unsecured...and I am standing on the sidwalk in from of that house...am I stealing if I breath the air right there in that spot. That would all depend on whether or not you are an idiot. A very s...

purrkur says this distro is the Way . 8) I think he is right on! The was the fastest to boot from install into the OS I have seen, yet. I like the coloured text-based install. I'm currently recovering a HP Pavilion for one my friends at work but I will be returning to this very interesting Linux di...

Whoa! How do you ever get anything done? Just trying to decide on what OS to run must be hard :) Mostly switch between XP and one of the distros. Been tyring to find out which Linux distro is the most wireless savvy. Ah, Nice. There is a way of telling Linux not to start X as default. It might vary...

People need to know that wireless is still new technology and should seriously consider not using it, if they want a very secure network. I wonder how many indiv...

Currently, I have XP, Fedora, SuSE and Slack on one of my systems (BP6s). I have XP, Win2KPro and Mandrake (Mandriva) on another. I tried Ubuntu Live CD. Slack was the first distro that came up to a command prompt after installing (nice surprise!). I want to replace Fedora or SuSE with Debian. I lik...

The HPT366 controller was designed with hard drives in mind, not CDROMs. Here's what the BP6 manual says: The HPT366 IDE controller is designed to support high-speed mass storage. Thus, we don't suggest you connect non-disk devices that use ATA/ATAPI interfaces, such as CD-ROM to HPT366 IDE connecto...
