OBTW, the v-in on the regulator does NOT get re-connected to the board at the old regulator terminal. It goes to the +5 volt terminal on the ATX power supply plug! Please see Yoshiro's "Original PIII Mods" per this website.

LM317T regulator, just cut old one at leads, didn't even remove from board. Soldered new in place (must add heatsink!)

C10 was 100, now 1000

In-line cap with 317 is 1200 to 1500, positive to v-in on reg. and neg. to ground.

However, even though it sees poth CPU's to set FSB and voltage in the soft menue, when it continues on, it sees only one when it continues boot. Thanks Derek! Of interest to all? After fixing "dead" board, I can now boot up at 605! These 366's have never gone over 571 dual and 594 single! I just completed the EC10 and voltage regulator change-out on a BP6.

Now when I boot it up floppy drive light stays on and I get as far as

"verifying DMI pool data...........Success" and system hangs, will not goto boot disc and floppy light stays on.

Any ideas?

This may seem like a dumb question but: I am looking at a Tyan Tiger dual 370 board. It only has 2 IDE connectors, one or both can be HPT66/100. I moved my G400, 1 stick Corsair PC133, 128 meg ram, reformatted 20 gig WD hdd, floppy, keyboard from my BP6 to a "good" VP6 with 2 good PIII 1100E, 100 meg fsb CPU's. I have a BP6 running one PIII 1100. I want to change it out with a VP6, no other changes, all hardware and software to remain the same. My question is this: Must I wipe my drives and start form scratch or not? I have 2 drives, a 20gig 7200rpm ATA100 and a 60gig 7200rpm ATA100 both running on the HPT...

I'm looking for a VP6, anyone got one for sale?

I have been using a Matrox G400 MAX, 32 meg, dual head for over four years (AGP) and no problems. Over clocks well at 110 Mhz.

Don't quote me but somewhere in the deep dark past, I remember seeing a water and tec rig that went 722 dual!

I think it was posted here, under water cooling?

I will look in my "archives" to see what I have.

I to have a generic firewire card with the same problem. However, my problem seems to have been fixed by: moving it to PCI 3!(I know, shares with HPT366 controller!) I have a chance to buy a VP6 that has only seen a couple of weeks of light duty. Price is well under $100 USD. It looks like I can move everything from my present BP6(sob!) to the VP6. I dearly want to go back to dual CPU's! I have 2 PIII 1100, 100 mhz fsb cpu's and am running one on my BP6 @ 110 fs...

I also would like an older trial version of Sandra(lost mine in HD crash!)

Just for "grinns" Would like to compair with my old dual 366's @ 571mhz scores and my present PIII 1100 @ 110fsb!

Make sure to first remove the green heatsink, scrape off any paste, replace witha VERY thin layer of Arctic Silver(worth its' weight in gold, no kidding!), replace heatsink and add a fan. I got mine at Radio Shack, 'bout $4 if I remember right but if you have an old 486 fan it will work and even fit...
