Free AntiVirus
I've been using Avira from a German company for years. It's not a resource hog like AVG is for you crunchers out there. I like the fact it also does root kit detection in the free version. Not a lot of free ones offer that. it updates daily. Check it out at http://www.free-av.com/

Re: Overclocking - (voltage) temp = stability, TNX Dave!
I have located heat sinks like the ones used by purrkur for $4.99 ea.USD, (same heat sink but slower fan and less flow) and 80mm Delta fans that flow 47cfm @ 2700 rpm for $10.00 USD for 5! Did research on-line and found a site that not only researched the heatsinks them selves but also applied diff...

Re: Tips for noob
Hi, just managed to get my hands on a BP6 and matching sets of 366 and 466 celerons. I'm going to use this board in my HTPC-project. Any tips for me? I'll post some pics when I get my camera back, and I'm probably going to write a webpage about my project in the future. More on that later. Ps. Nice...

But some of the blame has to go against the code as it was written. I should mention that the software that gave us issues was a client and not a server side component. It is a financial application that does heavy duty calculations among other things. The code itself was faultless and worked on si...

Well thanks Purrkur, I was wondering what your point was. I guess it all depends on your perspective here. As an end user I see some benefit to HT. But I can see how it could cause problems in servers. Of course I still stick by the point that it’s free and if you don’t need it or it causes problems...

HT was cool. my friend has an HT pentium 4. It really doesn't impact anything that much in regualr activities. Bill is right saying it hekps what it helps and doesn't hurt what it doesn't help. It is still cool but multi-core-cpu systems are definately the way to go. I didn't mean to imply HT was p...

Re: Intel confirms hyperthreading is a goner
Most of you know that I have a certain dislike to Intel's Hyperthreading. Not the technology per se but Intel's implementation of it. It was never any good and it was never any more than just a marketing tool/gimmick. It seems like Intel is finally pulling the plug on the thing . They seem to be sa...

Re: chance of getting 2x366Mhz Celerons to work @550Mhz
Hi! Just got two 500Mhz Cellis working together (now) in my recapped and ec10 modded ver 1.0 bp6 board. How big is the chance of buying two 366Mhz celerons on ebay and letting them work at 550 and 100Mhz FSB? the 500 ones dont overclock to 750mhz. that would have been a big surprise ;-). i dont lik...

Re: 700MHz Celeron II
I just bought myself a motherboard based on th 815 chipset from Intel with built in sound and graphics. The board is a micro ATX size with 3 PCI and 1 AGP port (despite the built in graphics) and I would say that the quality of it is impressive. It is a pull from a Fujitsu-Siemens computer. Along w...

I don't run UD for one simple reason. I'm not giving away my resouces so they can make money off of me. Billl,(or anyone else) Cheap is my middle name. Is there maybe a hardware firewall thats been out for a while so its not in hot demand anymore but can still be trusted as secure.
