I'm running the RU standard 1.25 BIOS, the HPT support has not been removed. The Windows driver is Win2K 1.25 version 1.25 also I believe. I spent a sad couple of hours trying to get my new CELE2-1100MHz chip to run before I realized it was the HPT366 that couldn't handle all the new speed. I raced ...

I'm running (3) BP6 systems - all on XP-Pro for about 7-8 months now. Single P-III/1100E@1.21GHz Single P-III/1100E@1.19GHz Single Cele2 1.1GHz@1.19Ghz I had to do the BIOS upgrade to RU 1.25 (or later) Needed the RU-matching Win2K/XP drivers for the HPT366 controller too. I had to retire the HPT366...

So, the kids demanded I slow back down to 108MHz. The new $99 Geforce2-Personal Cinema card is waiting to be installed & the schedule i...

What about p3s 1.266ghz/512/133 (tulatin) ? Yogi_Da_Mis, If you start with the "only 133MHz FSB" for your CPU purchase, you will end up UNDER-CLOCKING your CPU in a BP6 system. In addition, no one seems to have solved the Tulatin (FC-PGA2) series chips being incompatible with the BP6 (including Eve...

Wolfram, I have (3) BP6 systems all runnibg WinXP-Pro. They all have Promise ATA100 cards in them. After many disk crashes & corruptions, I started to lose faith in the HPT366. I'm retiring my DUAL-Cele1 setups in favor of the single P-III OC @110MHz FSB=>1.21GHz for Win-XP Pro. My first of (3) BP6 systems to get the CPU upgr...

You could add a 2nd Cele1/366 if your OS can support SMP dual CPUs Let me just say that a 1.1GHz Cele2/128K/100 with Neo-370 adapter will set you back about $95 in the USA. I've just finished moving my BP6 FSB speed up to 110MHz, and Win-XP is running just fine at 1.21GHz! Not bad for a 3-year old s...

OK, maybe you already have the 2nd Cele-1/366Mhz, or whatever. But having (2) CPU fans running at high RPM - my poor ears cna't take it. If you want to function in a Windows DOMAIN LAN, you must get XP-Pro. Other things are crippled in Home too - no file encryption As far as your H/W, check with the mfr. websites. The Kenwood site states that the 52x ATAPI drive is NOT WinXP compatible not sure about SCSI. Most H/W is no problem, but...

Sorry, no P-III/133 Tulatin series FC-PGA2 CPUs have been reported to work on the BP6. The new NEO-370/2 adapter is NOT COMPATIBLE with the BP6. If they did work, they would be FSB clocked at not much over 110MHz giving just over 900MHz (for an 1100MHz stamped chip). Might as well get a P-III 850/10...

I have (3) BP6 systems all running Win-XP. Have you WIn2000 guys been seeing this type of BSOD a lot? I've been getting it alot on all my systems. Then during my recent CPU upgrade of one BP6 to 1100MHz CELE2/NEO-370, I decided to retire my USB 2.0 IOGEAR brand card in that system (my main BP6 peer ...

Look for crushed contacts in the AGP slot too. Some poorly beveled AGP & PCI cards will hook the slot contacts on insertion and crush them down enough to cause shorting. The ISA video being there may be allowing it to boot because the system does not initialize the shorted AGP slot. Recovery from th...

You may need to update your BP6 BIOS - version RU is good for W2000 & Win-XP. You also need to get the Win2000 (works in XP) H/W driver, version 1.25 or later, on a floppy to be inserted when Win2000 ask for 3rd party drivers to be installed. Once the driver is loaded into the Win2K build you should...
