Touching up some of the textures, sharpening a few here and there and squashing lots of visual inconsistencies. I also solved a couple of AI issues I had before that were really bugging the hell out of me, but now the zombies function as they should and don't walk around doing weird things anymore. If a couple of them see you, it's almost over. If 5 or more see you, it's pretty much over. If you back into a wall with no outs, there's no hope in heck! icon_eek.gif

Wow, thanks a lot man! Just for that, you get these!

I'm so happy with the way things look right now. There were times where I couldn't get it 'right' and it got frustrating, but the polish phase is going by quite smoothly now. The scenes and mood/feelings/atmosphere I imagined in my head are all coming together onscreen, and man is it ever a great feeling. icon_smile.gif

Looking sexy indeed, I'm loving your work more evry time. I think if you make it possible for us to add music in, some Rammstein would go quite well in there. The hand and models are looking sharp too, they look almost like they came from CS:S those hands do! Very nice, keep up the good work.

Really hard to say. Though it's playable, it hasn't reached a level where I feel it's solid enough (On the whole, not just this level) I mean it's good, but I just need to add that little extra something and it'll take time. The game isn't that far off, it's just that I don't want to put a cap on how long I can spend on it. icon_smile.gif I promise you that you're in for a real experience and I'm extremely pleased with it. (And I'm really critical of my stuff!) icon_biggrin.gif

Good enough for me. icon_smile.gif It's really shaping up nicely. The AI improvements sound fantastic.

Could we get a couple of screenshots with a large horde of zombies?

There are situations where there are more onscreen, but never of the same type as you see above. I was just lazy and summoned a whole bunch. icon_wink.gif

Normally when I run through, the only way I've actually stayed alive to reach an objective was to just stay the hell away and only fight if I have no other choice. Best bet is to try to lure them out one by one, but that doesn't always work. Even with something like the shotgun, I still get scared because of the slow reload times so you have to really play conservative and try to plan out a route. I've tried going toe-to-toe but it's just too hard.

lol, was that one zombie naked ?! poking naked zombies with pitch forks sounds hella fun XD

so how slow are the zombies anyways ? are they as slow as in "Shaun of the Dead" (meaning every 50 feet you have to stop for 3 minutes for them to catch up to you) or is it more like resident evil / dawn of the dead like, where they can...run....(which is bad btw) :p
running zombies just make no sense ^_^;

You can outrun all the zombies in this game with the exception of the Seekers which run just as fast as you do. To me, using mostly fast moving zombies just aren't all that scary. If they're too agile or intelligent, it turns into a whole different type of horror. To me, zombie horror is about slow moving, relentless, ugly unstoppable walls of undead closing in on you. It's about opening a door and having them all flood in and leaving you with no outs. It's about emptying 3 clips into it's chest and still have it marching towards you, intent on tearing you to pieces. The freakiest thing to me is having no ammo left, and just trying to make a mad dash through a wall of zombies, trying to break through with some sort of tackle, yet being brought down and torn into. Impending doom, THAT is what's freaky. I have never walked away from a melee encounter with any monster in the game without taking damage. This makes me value my health more and makes me want to avoid them when they're in groups. This is the type of fear that I'm trying to convey. You'll dread seeing these things!! icon_biggrin.gif

Nupraptor: I've fit 22+ onscreen once in one of the other levels. There's no escape man lol icon_wink.gif

Very nice updates! Reading that you actually "fear" your own creations excites me even more!
I think someone needs to hold my hand once this thing comes out. Keep up the amazing work! icon_biggrin.gif

I just can't get over how good everything is looking. The textures are fantastic, the level design looks amazing, the monsters look superbly scary and the atmosphere seems shit scary! I bet you could cut the tension with a plate.
