[ KB ] Remove MSN Messenger in WindowsXP

Postby Derek » Wed Jul 30, 2003 11:34 am

1. Use Notepad to open the file: "c:\WINDOWS\inf (this is a hidden folder) \sysoc.inf".

2. Search for: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
(because it has the word "hide", Add/Remove Windows Components will not show this application).

3. Delete the word "hide".

4. Go to Add/Remove Windows Components. You will see the Windows Messenger option has been shown, check it, and then use Add/Remove Programs to remove it.
