What's quicker at compressing mpeg?

Wow, that’s a tough call. If you use multi-threaded encoding software you could get some really good results with the dual AMDs; having said that, the extra bus speed of the P4 will also help a lot. You may want to think of the other things you’ll want to do with the computer: Gaming, 3D stuff, etc.

What software are you planning on doing the edition with???

If that doesnt multi-thread then the answer is cleear
