Got a package from Taiwan (Jackcon) today.
A couple weeks ago, I emailed Jackcon in Taiwan and asked about getting replacement capacitors for my BP6. They emailed back and said it'd cost something like $70 with shipping, so I forgot about it. I had sent an email to badcaps.net yesterday to see about custom ordering a cap kit, and today the mailman brought me a registered, signature required letter from Taiwan!
Surprise!
It was exactly as I'd ordered it in the first email. I'd researched the topics here and came up with a custom combination. Here's what I got:
1 - 25 volt 10 uf 4 by 7 mm
3 - 16 volt 100 uF 6 by 7 mm
5 - 16 volt 1500 uF 10 by 20 mm
12 - 6.3 volt 1500 uF 8 by 16 mm
12 - 6.3 volt 2200 uF 10 by 20 mm
They're all Jackcon caps, each kind packed in its own heat sealed bag with a label. Couldn't ask for better, as long as these caps don't blow out on me.
So I'm a little happier today!

So did they charge you for the caps or not? Your not very clear on that.Tim_K wrote:A couple weeks ago, I emailed Jackcon in Taiwan and asked about getting replacement capacitors for my BP6. They emailed back and said it'd cost something like $70 with shipping, so I forgot about it.

No, I never paid anything, they just sent the capacitors based on that one email where I listed specific sizes of caps.
I wasn't even expecting to get it. After I read the email saying it'd cost something like $70, I just said "forget it" and didn't email them anymore.
But they sent the package, so the caps will get put to good use.

Well did a partial recap on the obvious bad caps, voltages & temps are very stable now. But 75mhz on the FSB is about all it will handle and even at that XP says it has to recover from a fatal error once in awhile, so effectively 71.99 mhz is it, not even worth the time to run it up. But now I need some large sticks of memory. Oh another thing I ran into, the Promise ata 66 cards conflicts my nic card.......so I kept the gigabit nic card in and pulled the ata 66.....might have to sell off that bad boy. Can't wait for Xandros to finish downloading. I don't think the BP6 will be on windows xpee too long.

Have you tried shuffling the conflicting cards into other slots? NICs in particular are known not to like sharing resources.
Like BP6.com? Not a member?
Then why the hell not? It's great!

Yeah one of the first things I tried, I even moved the sound card as well, still the promise card took over and the nic wouldn't work or if it did it disappeared even without using the ata card.InactiveX wrote:Have you tried shuffling the conflicting cards into other slots?
