Suggestions for BOINC Team name

Post by alnielsen »

Awhile ago, when we started the BOINC Team, Derek suggested we change the team name. They have now made it possible to do this. Derek suggested BP6.COM Users Group (I believe). I'm thinking Team BP6.COM. Any other suggestions? Derek, what do you think.

Also, how about changing the team descripion.

I'm going to hold on the team name for now. The transition page says something about transfering the SETI Classic groups to the BOINC stats page. If that is the case, I will be out of a job as admin ot the BOINC Beta group.

That is very interesting. It looks like they are testing the statistics database transition to BOINC.

It would be nice to have an active member (like alnielsen) as moderator of the new group.

The new stats page is:
http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/t ... amid=30229

As you can see, Colin & Xabu are still the administrators of the team.

I would use name BP6.COM Users Group. Many teams used in their first name the "Team" word. BP6.COM Users Group is the authentic and original name.

Hi TaleQ!

Thank you for your input! It's a tough decision, but you have made a very good point. A lot of the other teams use the word "team" in their title.

At this point we just need to get a hold of either Colin or Xabu to change the title.

seeing as Berkeley keep on changing things, the group Boinc address is currently
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/tea ... amid=30229

BUT, can COlin & Xabu get right on it and start the BP6/VP6 Group in
http://www.climateprediction.net/

I signed up, so my computer can do something, with a little less participation score (10 instead of 100) when the dumb Boinc is off, again. (sigh)
