If the controller card has an external SCSI connector, you should be able to use an external Sun SCSI drive. Providing the SCSI drive and controller card are compatible (Ultra2 -to- Ultra2, for example). Make sure the external SCSI drive is terminated properly. Some controllers are auto-sensing. Others require to termination set ON, while some don't.
