Unrecognized GeForce MX4000

Post by Random »

I've tried every slot. Every graphics setting. Uninstalling pre existing drivers. Installing the software before and after the card, but I still can't get past the beep code for video error while powering on. Has anyone managed to get this card to work on their BP6?

is it a 4X AGP card ?
or perhaps 8X ?
if so, might be a little too modern for the old 2X AGP BP6

I bought it NIB. Tried all 5 slots. Stripped the board to barebones. Just don't know if anyone has had any luck with this card. I'd hate to get another one if I'm just overlooking something. When you guys install a new graphics card what do you normally do? Maybe I'm just missing a step or two.

check the BIOS for the part ...
first, put in a video card that works. (d'oh)
check the BIOS bit where it says what to post to first, AGP or PCI.
make sure it's PCI.
if you happened to set it AGP, it might cause probs with a PCI card.

hi,

I have just bought a 2nd hand bp6 + 2x366 celly, I have tried a 4xAPG geoforce4 ti4200 it works.

But I really want put a old pci card in it, I have 2 cards (ATI AIO wonder and S3) but none of them work in any of the slot (long
short short long beeps), and I have checked BIOS is set yo init PCI first,

any clues?

Tried it all. Slots were good, card just wouldn't work in 'em. Just went back and got the AGP version of the same card. Works fine. Thanks for the suggestions though.

After flashing to the RV BIOS and a lot of re-inserting, my PCI VGA card works in the BP6, but there is an other small problems.

- is there anyway to boot the BP6 with monitor off?
- I have to switch of the BP6 after a reboot or hitting the reset button, this doesn't seem right either
