8mm DDS

I've just been given 80, 8mm DDS tapes (Sony QG112MA). Does any one know what these can be used for. Is there a back up drive, if so what type/model, I've looked on Ebay and the net but there seems to be loads of different types! Are they ok with 8mm digital video cams? Please help, they look so cute in their little plastic boxes but if I can't find a use for them soon i'll have to bin them!
