WD 200GB HDDs on BP-6

Post by MTRH »

Hi
I just bought two 200GB WDs for a steal.
Does the BIOS support them on the HPT66 controller?
and oh, what BIOS is the latest?

1) Yes (I wouldn't suggest using the HPT controller! Buy a fast Promise controller)

Hmm
Can it really report all 200GBs?
It's not really in my budget to buy a controller right now :(

Yea, you're right. MTRH: Have you tried them with the controller yet?

MTRH,
You and our (2) 200G drives deserve something much better than an HPT366 running them!
Get the Promise ATA100 for $30 or the ATA133 for$35.
Save your HPT366 channels for READ-ONLY devices, that's all it should be trusted to run.
200G is alot of gigs to get wasted after it represents a lot of hours invested.

(3) BP6 sysems - single PIII/1100E @1.21GHz - single Cele2/1100 @1.09GHz -Dual 366 @466MHz
