shoky

you are one smart individual..

i have used the hpt366 ONCE and that was with a cdrom... even the cdrom i had on it was decent.. but the performance went through the floor..

i haevn't plugged anything in since..

i want to rid my bp6 of the annoying blue hpt screen on bootup..

when i got the board it didnt show so I flashed the RU bios and now I don't know how to go back. i think i fdisked the hdd that i had saved the prev bois so i can send it to the SETI rack.

isnt there a bois version of RU without the htp66?
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

I know it's a late answer - but:

I had the same probs: HPT366 + Maxtor DiamondMax 8 Plus (40 Gig)
Using W2k and some old HPT drivers: transfer rates above 50 MB/s
Using XP and the actual HPT driver version 1.30: 12 MB/s (the UDMA 33 controller was quite faster)

Solution: A visit on the HPT homepage (http://www.highpoint-tech.com)

The RU-BIOS contains the HPT-BIOS version 1.22 but the driver version was 1.30 (it seems that the version of BIOS and driver has to be the same)

Installed W2k driver version 1.22 - the result made me happy.
sequential read: 54 MB/s, sequential write: 58 MB/s
