BP6 - Serial ATA 120GB (Desktar) and Adaptec 1505SA Problem!

Post by bobafett13 »

Hello everyone, I am having some issues installing a new 120GB Serial ATA Hard drive (Desktar) with the Adaptec 1505SA PCI interface card. Upon bootup, the Adaptec card recognizes the 120GB drive however the system appears to just hang during the Windows 2000 installation " part
->"...Starting Windows 2000 Setup...". I have hit F6 to load the drivers for the Adaptec card which leaves me wondering :

(a) Has anyone been able to get the BP6 to work with a serial ATA drive using an interface card such as Adaptec or another brand? If so, have you been able to boot of the Serial ATA drive?

(b) Is there any known work around to the problem I am experiencing?

Thanks in advance.

Is this a new install? If yes, did you format the hard drive from the Windows installation? Which PCI slot do you have the Adaptec in?
