Strange. Have you checked the jumper settings on the drive?

This BIOS gets rid of the HPT screen.

Glad I read this thread, I just got a new tx2 shipped to me from another forum forsale thread, and was planning on using it in my bp6. So I gotta flash the bios that removes the bios splashscreen ( I am aware device may still show up in device manager, thats ok).

My question is this: Does the version of the non-hpt366 bios have the p3 microcode? Do I even need the p3 microcode, I am currently running a fcpga celemine 1000 on a neo s370.

Thanks

The only difference in a P3 bios is that it displays the right name of your processor when you boot up...so it isn't really necessary.

It does more than that; it contains the code allowing the computer to recognize the Pentium 3. That's why you need to have the P3 BIOS before booting up with a P3 CPU.

I often wondered about that, having never used CPUs other than the CeleronA in my BP6.

So a celemine qualifies as a p3, right? Do I need the p3 microcode bios or not?
