Bios without the Highpoint?

Post by bjerkvig »

I have bought my 3rd BP6 and the promise controller is ready. Should i use a bios wiothout the highpoint or do I disable it somewhere? Can't wait to get the WD 80 gb, 8 mb cache working!

I've been using a modded RU BIOS without the HPT firmware for nearly a year, and it's fine. The HPT still shows up in device manager; there's no way possible to completely remove it AFAIK.

The big advantage with the modded BIOS is the increase in bootup speed because the Highpoint BIOS screen doesn't pop up, but otherwise you might as well use the regular RU BIOS.

However, the BP6 logo in place of the Enregy-Star logo is cool. 8)
