I've always used Promise controllers, and currently have an UltraATA/100 TX2 card in my BP6 with two disk drives hanging off it.

I would recommend them to all BP6 users, especially if you want to ditch that POS HPT3666 controller.

Promise controllers all the way. If you do not want a radi controller the sell just ATA100/133 controllers as well.

I use the modified RU BIOS with BP6 logo and no HPT BIOS built in.

It boots up quicker, but device manager still shows the HPT is present. AFAIK, there is no way to completely remove the HPT.

There is a search order for PCI slots. Put the new Promise in the Fastrak's higher priority slot & move the Fastrak card to a lower priority slot.
