If you don't want to use the HPT366 at all, try the RU BIOS with the HPT code removed.

I've been using it for ages and have found it to be very stable. It speeds up boot times and has a nice Abit BP6 logo in place of the Energy Star. Unfortunately it doesn't free up any IRQs. Oh well.
