XP not detecting Wintv pvr 250

Post by ewakko »

I got a pvr card off of ebay, and XP is not detecting it's installed. I have tried all pci slots. Is it a XP problem or mobo problem? Does anyone else have a Wintv Pvr card installed?

I think someone else was having the same problem a while back. Does the card work on other computers?

No, I'm going to try on my friend's computer who was able to get his working, but this is also happening for a scsi card. <sniff>
I'll update when I get a chance to try on his computer.

It works on my friend's computer fine (different mobo).
I took everything out except the agp video card. And I tried all the PCI slots but the 3rd one. After changing the card to a new slot the computer would not boot until the third try. And windows XP did not detect it.

Is it a BP6 that it isn't working with?

this card looks like it has alot of problems. After some more research, I'm going to uninstall MSN Messenger, and disable my dual boot. Maybe that will help.
