Linux type n00b question........

I have reinstalled Mandrake 9, but I do not want any window manager, just straight CLI,
My problem is, seeing as how I am folding on this machine, I want to run one on each CPU, and try as I might, to no avail, getting the client to bow down so I can fire up the secend one......
All I see is the client working, that would be ok if I didnt want one on each CPU......
I have searched and searched, and can search no more, how can I get them out of the way?????

Have you tried using &, at the end of your command statement?

It would look like this:

seti -verbose &
