BIOS setting causing your error

Post by nullshark »

Changing "Speed Error Hold" to OFF will get rid of that error.

A 500 MHz Celeron will not overclock very high. Celerons max-out at ~ 600 Mhz. The 300A or 366 Celeron will overclock to 100-110 Mhz FSB. You can try more cooling for the 500's but it may more effort than what it is worth.

just a small point... your 500s have a fixed multiplier of 7.5, altering the multiplier in bios will not change it.... btw 7.5 times 72 is 540Mhz.. about as far as you'd expect to get... a bit more extreme cooling may see you get a bit higher.... BIOS reports clockspeed from a look up table so sometimes gets it wrong!
