What is your system? Dual/Single CPU?
Get settings back to standard - no OC, no voltabe boost, etc.
Start with one CPU in either socket. If no boot, move it to other socket.
If no boot in either socket, repeat with 2ND CPU (if you have 2ND one).
Just do a floppy boot until you get somewhere.

Do an inspection on your caps to make sure there aren't any leaks or blown caps. While you're in there reset the CMOS with the reset jumper or pulling the battery.

The problem may very well be with the operating system; if the computer finds the OS, loads it, but then the OS freezes before it can startup it’ll freeze with nothing printed to screen ;)

Unless you’ve already tried re-installing… Kuun’s last post is what prompted me to pipe up, I’ve had this problem before.

Yep, Microsoft, quality craftsmanship! Don’t get me wrong though, I love them :D

That's what I meant when I said to just do a floppy boot!
Disconnect all Hdisk drives from system & just get one CPU to boot from either socket.
If it boots, add one thing at a time.

What happens if you fire it up with no disks or floppies attached? If you get the OS not found error, your issue is software, if it's still chillin on the DMI pool, it's hardware or bios.

Go into the BIOS and enable "Reset DMI Pool Data".

where is Reset DMI Pool , do you mean Update ESCD?

There is no operating system to speak of on any of the drives, except a command.com which got put on when i reformatted the drives. I do have a hard drive with windows 2000 from another system in which i replaced this drive because i was upgrading.

Either Drive produces the Same Results, with drives disconnected, sometimes it will ask for boot disk and sometiems it just freezes at the Verifying DMI Pool Data.....

I think i just have intermitent Controller failure? If i fully power down, 75% of the time the System kwill get to a C prompt or A prompt

i'll have to figure out a way to get the promise controller installed.

if you think of anything else
please let em know
Yea, Update ESCD (sorry)... I hate these types of problems that come and go as they please; the hardest to fix.

my board was a 1.0 for the longest and 2K had problems with the USB on it,

updated the bios and viola, problems solved

The version number of the BP6 is written on a sticker on the side of one of the ISA slots.

Revision number has to do with minor board design changes. You'll notice that the EC10 and VR problems are related to certain revision #s.
