Hello Ryan,

If you're not using the RU BIOS, upgrade to that one.

Check out all the info on the EC10 problem which plagued many BP6s:

Hi Ryan,

First of all, dont panic! secondly, dont attack your BP6 with a heavy object because its being a pain! We've all been there.

Is the freezing random?
What IDE controler is your hard drive on?
Try using 1 stick of memory, mixing memory speeds and CL's can cause problems.
Try runing with minimum components, just hard drive and video card.
Stick to Windows 2000 or XP.

Is your power supply 300W or better? Blown the dust off everything?
If it's the heat, get a pair of EverCool 715 HSFs at www.nexfan.com.
If it's not the heat, some of the CPU capacitors may be dying (top bulges)
Try removing one CPU & then the other. You will likely find that one of the CPU sockets runs more reliably than the other. If so it's probably some of the components that supply power to the CPU that are going bad.
I have three BP6 systems, all of which won't boot with their new P-III/1100E CPUs in one of their sockets. All work OK with CPU in the other socket.
