Will Celeron 566 work with SMP?

Batch codes, RAM specs, BIOS settings, etc..

Will Celeron 566 work with SMP?

The models are celeron SL4PC x2 and celeron SL46T x1
I would like to know if I can runs these with the BP6 in dual cpu before I buy them from a friend.

I think the Celeron 566's and up are a different architecture and won't work in a BP6, at least without modifications.

As far as I know, a 533 Celeron SL3FZ is the fastest you can go without changes.

Tim_K is right. 533A or higher is Celeron II. They use the Pentium III Coppermine O.18 µ core in a FC-PGA (flip-chip) package. The Celeron II will NOT SMP. You'll need a 370 to FC-PGA socket adapter for single mode operation.

Easy way to tell is:
Mendocino core PPGA is brown with a fairly large silver slug.
Coppermine FC-PGA is green with a quite small slug.
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

No BP6s remaining
Athlon 2800
Sempron 2000
ViaCPU laptop with Vista.(Works great after bumping ram to 2Gig)
