I got 3 766Mhz Celerons...

I'm updating a few compurers at my friends house. He said that I can keep all the parts left over. So, I am going to have three 766Mhz Celerons with 66Mhz FSB FC-PGA. The question is, what should I do with them? Am I correct that the Abit BP6 will not support them? My goal is to make a server out of 2 or 3 of them. Is there any ohter motherboard that will dual 766Mhz Celerons?

Nope, No BP6 (or any other board) will run those cellies in dual. Celeron II's just won't do dual.

Welcome aboard.

In case you are not sure you can check the articles on some other websits, but nullshark is correct. After the discovery that allowed the PPGA celerons to be run in dual...and the fact that someone could set up a dual celly board way cheaper then using full pentiums...Intel changed the design preventing FC-PGA and FC-PGA2 cpus from being modified to dual.
Maybe someone can preform micro-laser surgery on them and enable SMP but no one has had any sucess with them yet.

Thanks for the information. I have decided to use dual pentium 3s, 800Mhz, 133Mhz front side bus. I had those processors just laying around doing nothing, so might as well put them to use. And I guess I will just sell the Celerons since I have no use for them
