cpuidle rocks

Post by bluliz »

i have been using cpuidle for just 1 hour and the difference is amazing.

the old temperatures were any where from 34,34,44 to 40,42,51

but now they are rock solid at 27,27,32,

its bloody incredible.
i just need a crack if anyone can find 1 for the latest version for xp.

also put it on my laptop (p4 2.66ghz), got nearly 2 hours from 60% battery while playing games (put it on this morning at uni). and my athlon xp3000 is down from 35c to 30c.

Yes, it does. So do Win2K, NT4, and Linux. BeOS doesn't by default on SMP systems but it's really easy to enable. The moral of the story is: run a real OS! :)

CPUidle is great but if your cooling can't handle a full load then you still have a problem
oh yeah HLT commands are all used in current OSes
yea, back from the dead

If it ain't broken, mod it until it is

i use my bp6 as a proxy net server and firewall so it hardly does any work. so the software really helps keep temps down

it only gets a work out when i go to a lan party and play counter strike with it,

just played halflife with cpuidle running and the temps only go up to 32,32,37
