Asus CUSL2-C 1xPentiumIII 933@1120

CPU Stepping: SL5B4 Costa Rica

FSB: 160MHz

BIOS Rev: C-00

Cooling: Taisol CEK733092

OS: Windows XP SP1

Video: Riva TNT2 M64

HDD: Maxtor ATA66 8GB

CD-RW: 48x 16x 48x

RAM: 512MB PQI PC133

PSU: 350W Generic

----------

This computer has been up and running for 3 days. It is going to be a digital audio workstation for music composition and production.

The CPU is a PIIIEB (133MHz FSB) which comes in the FC-PGA2 package. This is pin-compatible with FC-PGA, but also includes in integrated heat-spreader, for efficient contact between the HSF and CPU die.

I plan to add a professional audio card to the workstation when funds allow. Also intend to use a bigger and faster HDD and a dual-head video card.

The board, CPU and RAM overclock very nicely, and everything is stable at 160MHz FSB. This may change when I add more hardware. The VCore was increased from 1.75V to 1.80V. At 166MHz FSB, the IDE controller had problems.

The computer has been crunching SETI units for burning-in and testing stability. Last night it did one unit (command-line version) in 6 hrs, 27 mins.

CPU temps - Idle: 31C, Full-load: 48C.

See http://www.asus.com.tw/mb/socket370/cus ... erview.htm for motherboard details.

What motherboard do you have?

It's done in the same way as Intel chips - you increase the FSB.

cant you do the mod to the chip to unlock the multiplyer, then it may overclock more.
My brother had a 700 duron that used to do 1GHz easy.

Happy unlocking, keep on overclocking.

Here is the case I got. It looks just like a Nokia mobile phone! I think it's hilarious.

It was so cheap - less than the price of the included 350W PSU. I wonder if Nokia were going to produce a range of PCs, but decided against it, hence the cases are being sold off cheap?

Update:

GPU is now ATI Radeon 7000 64MB DDR AGP 4x Dual-Head. It's fine with the 80MHz AGP speed.

HDD is now Hitachi ATA/100 60GB.

Now I need to find me another monitor. CRTs are so cheap now that everyone is going TFT. People are paying the dustmen to take them away round where I live.
