single 1100 P3 at 106 fsb

Post by jaybird »

I have a version 1.1 board that has previously had 2 366's @ 605, air cooled.

I am now running this board with 1, 1100 P3 @ 106 fsb.

I have started the dual conversion by modifying the 2 NEO's (cut trace), added the wires to the sockets on the board and completed the EC10 modification.

With both 1100's in place the board defaults to 700 mhz and will not go past memory check, to go any further with this board I will need to change out the voltage regulator.

The present setup is so stable I hate to mess with it! I'm thinking of getting another BP6 to mess with.

configuration:

1, P3, 1100 mhz, 100 mhz fsb @ 106 fsb on the board
1, Globalwin FEP32 with copper cpu spacer and Arctic Silver paste
768 meg Cosair PC133 SDRAM(3, 256 sticks)
Sparkle 350 watt PS
1, 20 gig WD 7200 rpm hd on http 366 controller, ide 3
1, 80 gig Maxtor 7200 rpm hd, on http 366 controller, ide 4
Matrox G400 MAX, dual head vid card
SBLive Paltinum (original)
generic Firewire card
Adaptec SCSII adapter for X6EL scanner
WinTV GO! capture card
10/100 NIC
Pioneer 104S DVD player
Kenwood 52X TrueX CD-ROM drive
Panasonic DVD/DVD-RAM burner
52X/24X/52X Lite-on CD burner
WIN98SE/WIN2000 Pro dual boot

I do extensive video work and am able to capture at 720x480 NTSC all day log with no dropped frames!

My video to DVD conversions (VirtualDUB to TMPGEnc PLUS! to DVD it! SE) works flawlessly, so you can see why I haven't gone any futher with this board! :D

Up-date!

Post by jaybird »

Just a little up-date, am now at 108 fsb with no problems.

Seems as if these P3's react a lot like the old celeries, the longer
you run them at a certain fsb the easier it is to get them to go
faster!

The next step is to tweak the BX chip set with WBXtune and CPU CREDIT

OBTW, does anyone have an older freeware version of SANDRA? The
one I have is for XP or 2000Pro and since I am only running 1 CPU in
WIN98SE it doesn't seem to want to play nice!

I run dual-boot, 98SE/WIN2000 Pro. However, I have some programs that don't respond well in 2000 and since I am running only 1 CPU as I stated in my first post it doesn't matter and I prefere to stay in 98SE.
