wierd core voltages

Post by vgoraz »

So i have upped my voltage a bit to 2.05V on both cpus. The computer is running really stable at 90 mhz making 366s@495 (could not get it to run at 92mhz anymore, guess i was just lucky that day). but well, some wierd voltage readings i am getting now. in the bios, both cpu Vcores are just about 2.05 (the fluctuate quite alot actually)
according to MBM though, my core 0 voltage is 2.04 which yes is what it is suppose, while core 1 is at 1.5V. 1.5V has got to be low. i do not know why it cannot read the voltage correctly though.
Also, my core 0 in MBM5 has a low reading of 1.98V and a high reading of 2.06V which is alot more fluctuate than i think is good.
so yeah is anyone else having these sort of bizarre readins. hopefully i do not have to start checking my caps and replacing them as well this board has never been modded and i do not feel like modding it.

Core 1 voltage being displayed is actually reading your VTT voltage of the BP6. There is a setting in MBM that can be changed so the display for the Core 1 voltage is actually the core voltage of the CPU and not the VTT voltage. I can't remember where you make this change in MBM. Hoperfully, someone will give us the correct information. I'll be checking MBM when I get home tonight if no one respond by then.

You need to select the BP6 option from the Voltage Configuration drop down list.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I have the BP6 setting selected and I still get the VTT setting reported ... any ideas why?

That's odd. Maybe a bug within MBM?

Same problem with MBM here. Had noticed that some months ago, and I just wanted to check back by starting MBM... it quit with an error message I´ve never seen before (and I immediately forgot it... damn... Alzheimer? Hi guys, who ARE you? And me?)

vgoraz, in which range do the voltages fluctuate in the BIOS? I mean... if it´s between 1 and 3 volts, I wouldn´t necessarily believe it... ;)

what was the last known version of MBM that reported the core 1 voltage correctly ????

Nothing specific to the BP6. I think in version 4.18, changing the chipset gave us the deisred results. Maybe we should pass this on to Alex.

I found the vcore1 string in the ini file:

V1V2=$21*0.016B$05

But I'm not sure what it should be changed to for 2.5 volts.

We see the VTT voltage in the BIOS. I wonder if we could configure another voltage in MBM to display VTT, as well.

OK. This string:

V1V2=$21*0.016B$05

is VTT.

V1Vy=$21*0.016B

will be vcore1 when we figure out what y should be.

I posted on the MBM forum about this issue. We'll see what Alex has to say...

I posted on the MBM forum without much luck. MBM 4.18 shows the correct core voltages. During the 4.18 install, the program "knows" that you are using two processors and lets you choose the proper chipset.
