Abit BP6 + 1xCeleron Tualatin 1400@1484
I have gotten the 1.4 Ghz celeron to work fine in the first of two BP6 machines but want to solve one problem before doing the second. The globalwin cpu fan will not come on despite my having added an extension wire to the thermistor normally just under the cpu and relocating it to between the Lin-Lin adapter and the cpu. For now I have the cpu fan wired into the case fan plug so it's on full blast all the time - works but it's noisy. Anyone else have a solution? Also, anyone have a good (cheap) source for 256 MB DIMMs for the BP6?
no beeps mean it's not ticking at all
you oculd put a billion video cards
that wouldn't help one bit

The computer is not posting because some setting is preventing it from posting. Holding down Insert (if it is not posting) will enable safe-mode and allow it to post.
Edit:
If you want (at your own risk), set the FSB on your BP6 to something insane. Save and Exit and voila: No post! Now, shut off the computer, wait a few seconds... Hold down "Insert" and then power up the computer: It posts! w00t!
hey
i didn't know that
i thought that only applied to windows

"Setup Defaults" is more appropriate IMO. Just like the option you get in the BIOS setup menu.
Like BP6.com? Not a member?
Then why the hell not? It's great!

I could never get the Insert key trick to work, so I always used the CCMOS jumper instead - it does the same thing.

Maybe it should be called BIOS Reset-Mode.
I was confused, but for a moment.
They all mean the same thing in my books!InactiveX wrote:"Setup Defaults" is more appropriate IMO. Just like the option you get in the BIOS setup menu.

So far, it seems like just the Lin-lin on top of the Neo work to get the system to do anything at all.
I was wondering whether those that have gotten it to work are using a Neo that has that trace on the bottom cut to get it to work in the BP6 in dual mode (for dual Coppermine)?
So, if everybody that has gotten it to work has the trace cut (as per Powerleap's guidelines for BP6), then perhaps something similar needs to be done to the bottom Lin-Lin for some dual Lin-Lin Tualatin fun.
This is just an idea (one of the ones that just pops into your head when you're trying to avoid work), and so is probably completely wrong. But hey, that's my contribution
Hope it helps, or at least get someone else thinking who knows more about what's going on.
