FS: BP6, 300A's, RAM, video & Alpha PAL6035's.

Post by c5f8 »

For sale: BP6 motherboard, rev 1.0, in excellent working condition.
Comes with original BP6 User's Manual rev 1.01 and CD ROM driver disk BX-1.61E.
I didn't power up the system for over 3 years, (maybe longer).
I recently loaded Win2K and it runs stably.

Included:
- 2 Celeron 300A processors with Mendocino cores.
- 2 huge Alpha PAL6035 3Dfx heatsinks with shrouds with copper bottoms.
- Diamond video V550 AGP, NVIDIA Riva TNT, 128 bit, 8MB, with driver CD, Direct X6, OpenGL.
- 3 sticks of Micron Crucial 128MB PC100 RAM (384MB total).

The Celeron 300A processors run fine at: 4.5 x 100MHz = 450MHz @ 1.95V.
The Celeron 300A processors run fine at: 4.5 x 110MHz = 495MHz @ 1.95V.
The Celeron 300A processors posted in BIOS at: 4.5 x 124MHz = 558MHz @ 2.00V.
I never tried a higher voltage.

Motherboard Monitor 4.18 displays temperature 32C @ 1.95V for both CPUs at 20C room temp.
Motherboard Monitor 4.18 displays temperature 38C @ 1.95V for both CPUs at 34C room temp.

The Celerons are SMP enabled for dual processor support as seen in Windows 2000 Task Manager.
Device Manage shows MPS Multiprocessor PC.
CMOS Battery keeps accurate time.

BIOS version: roby2_bp6_ru_hpt128_p3_co.zip.
Highpoint Technology HPT-66 IDR controller.
HTP366 Win2K 1.25.2 Driver.

I bought all new parts in Summer 1999; however I really didn't use system much.
I was waiting to get Windows NT to run the SMP enabled.
I had another computer built from a BX6, a Pentium-II and Win95-OSR2.
This BP6 board does not have any instability problems and absolutely no capacitor distortion.
You will not be disappointed.

Asking price: $75US, including shipping within USA. An extra fee for shipping outside USA.

Pictures were from my brother's HP Photosmart 870, with 50mm-100mm close-up lens.
Camera generates 2.5MB jpg files which are 1600 x 1200 resolution.
At the upper left corner of BP6 website, it states version 2.9, 1024 x 768.
Posting higher than 1024 x 768 would require considerable use of browser slider bars.

I reduced camera resolution using EasyImage Batch software, from CNET.com.
EasyImage converted files to 640 x 480.
It could convert to 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768, but I was minimizing BP6 storage requirement.

When I bought the BP6, I was in college with no money for NT to enable SMP.
Then my job as a traveling process engineer required that I get a Sony Z505 laptop,
so my BP6 is almost new.

Now I've been laid off, so I'm selling a few things and buying a few things
trying to reinvent myself for a new job.

If kuun is not interested, and next week's paycheck is sufficient, I will buy the lot.

I sent two private messages. Why do my messages sit in my outbox and not in my sentbox?

I think you are right, Dave Rave. They sit in the OutBox until the receiver logins into the web site (BP6). Then they show up in the SentBox.
