Check the voltage regulator capacitors around the CPU sockets. The tall, green ones. Look for signs of bulging, discoloration and/or oozing electrolyte. If you see any capacitor(s) with any of these characteristics, then this is probably your problem. Replacing the bad capacitor(s) should resolve your problem.
BTW can VIA C3 Ezra 933 run SMP?
VIA WEB site says, "IO/APIC support in future versions (Dual processing support)". So, SMP in another revision of the chip. Maybe...
