I never thought of trying that. Of course it would work!!!

There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

WD40 is a great water displacer, it's similar to kerosene and with some light hydrocarbon oil mixed in. it's pretty bad at lubercating because after the kerosene evaporates, you're left with a thin film of lube that will wear down pretty quickly.
What you might want to do is after you flooded those fans and then let it dried of is to put a drop of 25wt pure silicone oil on the fan bearing. because the silicone will break down much slower than the stuff wd40 leaves behind or any petroleum based lube for that matter.
Silicone shock oil, what they use in RC cars, is what I use and it works perfectly.
