DPMS causing problems, how do I correct?

Post by jaybird »

Since my last format & reload I have been having problems with DPMS mode.

I will be working along in or on a graphics intensive program, cpu's at or over 75%, minimum ram usage (say, 120meg max, 1gig available) and with no warning, I'm in either DPMS off or standby and I can't reactivate (black screen after blue box notification), second monitor shuts down and I have to reboot. This also sometimes happens while I am on the Internet!

OS is WIN2K Pro, SP4, PNY GeForce FX5500, 128meg vid card.

Any ideas?

seems like the system is crashing...might be some program, might be some EC10 problem...might be some drivers for some card...also it could be just the MBO is old...

you will have to find out what that problem is in the computer...maybe some error will pop-up!!! :))
