BP6 and registered memory

Post by emorrow »

Can anyone tell me if this board works with registered memory or not? I'm aware it has to be low density memory.

I know, but does it work with registered memory. Not all motherboards work with registered memory and I just wanted to know if anybody had this board working with this type of memory.

Welcome to BP6.Com, emorrow !

The BP6 manual does not say anything about registered verses non-registered RAM. The BX chipset will support this type of RAM but normally you only need registered RAM if you are using more than 3 sticks of memory or running a server. Registered RAM should work on the BP6.

Here's a good link about RAM and the BX chipset. It mentions the BP6! :smokin:

Recently I read that the BX should even support certain registered 512MB modules. That guy said the DIMMs had to be "stacked" DIMMs (32 chips, double height). Anybody ever heard about that?
