one fan power supply died...any suggestions?

A while back I noticed some noise and saw one of the fans had died on one of the processors. I than disconnected fan and removed chip. I inspected the board and noticed a burnt spot. How or why this happened who knows. Anyway I wanted to run both processors again until I find another bp6 board can anyone tell me if its possible just to splice power off the other fans wires? Would this cause a problem? Or maybe another power source?
