For what you want to do, probably the 1GHz single chip.

If you're playing games a lot, the extra CPU will be pretty useless. Dual-processors are good if you do a lot of multitasking with more than one app at a time, or if you use an efficient SMP-aware OS like BeOS - www.bebits.com

I value multitasking over using single-threaded apps one at a time, so I'm sticking with my dual 366s OC to 500MHz. It depends on what you're doing.

Quick question.....
Would there be the AGP 2x video issues with the single P3 running at 100mhz as there is with the 366's running at 100mhz with AGP 2x?????

I don't see how it would make a difference. The AGP problems would still be there. But I'm theorising here :?

Dont you need that powerleap converter to use a p3 or faster FC-celery?
them arent cheap, like $150+ give or take, with $150, I would just buy a new board!!!
what gives?

will the prices on the adapters ever go down?

The P-III/1100E chips can be had for ~$125 +/-$50.
The Neo370 adapter goes for $25 (PowerLeap's site sucks & it's hard to locate the item).
I recently upped one of my (3) BP6 systems to Cele2/1100+Neo370 for less than $100. This chip is stable at 108FSB =>1188MHz

Then I got (2) P-III/1100E chips ($125 EA.) & my 2nd BP6 is now running Single CPU at 110MHz FSB =>1.21GHz. This is very stable running XP-Pro, but must be booted @98FSB & raised after boot to 110FSB with the BP6FSB.EXE tool.

The P-III system is noticeably faster than the Cele2 & much faster than the (pre-upgrade) Dual 366@500 performance. I'm happy with the investment, even though I had hoped to reach 124MHz FSB & no way without soldering or H20 cooling.
