Problems, network connection. 169.x.x.x shows...

Post by Blueneko »

I've has an ASUS SK8N Motherboard for the last 6 months that had a bad onboard network connection. Ive bypassed it with a standard 3com network card, anyone vere seen bad network connections onboard. I RMA'd the board to asus and they didnt even fix the inital problem, but anyone come across with network cards that just cant recieve packets?
Tried several os's including linux and none of them allow connecting through that onboard nic =>.<=;

And yes I have tried default drivers, new nvidia nforce3 drivers, several switches, crossover cable, patch cables, nothing. So could it just be a bad board? (oh and yes at the time there were two identical motherboards with the same problem)

I agree....
had a borad with on-b nic
it boots showing, finds in OS, green lights on network hub....
and then it just stops or never starts actually sending packets.
It would get it's IP address form the DHCP....
very strange.
just disable it in bios and add a nic pci
