Acorp 6A815EPD: Does this i815 board support dual celerons?

Post by Wolfram »

Hi everyone,

just saw an Acorp 6A815EPD on ebay Germany. Is this board (i815 EP) capable of running dual celerons (PPGA/Mendochino)? Can't find a manual on the Acorp website. Only found a review (http://www.digit-life.com/articles/i815epacorp6a815epd/) which does not explicitly say "no".

Best regards,

===================
CPU
-Dual Socket 370 for Intel PIII C&D-Step Processor.
-Singal Intel FC-PGA/PPGA Celeron Processors
300MHz~800MHz or higher processor with 66/100MHz
FSB.
-Singal Intel FC-PGA/FC-PGA2 Pentium III C&D-Step
Processors 500MHz or higher processor with 100/133MHz
FSB.
-VIA Cyrix III Processor with 100/133MHz FSB.
===================
I'd say yes.....
if Piii's will, ppga's generally do.
it's an Intel thing ;-)

I remembered the VP6 does not support dual celerons. But that's a VIA chipset, and IIRC the VP6 doesn't even support single PPGA-Celerons, while this board (and chipset) does support single PPGAs. Hmmm...

I own the Acorp and BP6. Acorp won't do SMP for anything but PIII's. I've heard the MSI 694 can run the mendocino's. Rumor.

Thanks. I was only interested in the Acorp in case it would run Celerons.

PS: Highest bid for that board was 60 Euros incl. shipping.
