My first attempt at watercooling... :D Enjoy the pictures!

Post by BCN »

as the cooling liquid I use the mixture of:

1. 0.5l of metanol
2. 0.3l of concentrated antifreeze for corrosion protection.
3. 1.5-2.0l of distilled deionized water
4. 5ml of my favorite biocide for germ protection (viridis nittens - that's in latin and I do not know if you have that in your place, but those 5ml of 1% of it in ethyl alcohol solution have my 3l color bright green :) - it's a colorant also)

I use EHEIM 1250 pump, 1/2 tubing (think it's vynil) and a 40x60cm full copper automotive radiator (it IS expensive... ah.... grrrrrrrrrrr...)

As for now I have my P4 Northwood 2.4C@3.0GHz at 1.6V at 34C with passive cooling and no case fan or fan on the rad, system temps are on par.... yeah, it IS hot here already... :D

It is my first attempt and I already see places for improvement.

now enjoy the photos:

not exactly pretty, but it has got to be good for keeping the water all the same temp....
