RAM bandwidth increase :)

Post by Jimbo »

I've been using wbxtune.exe to give me a little boost in the northbridge department, and I thought I'd pass it along.

Read about wbxtune and how to use it: http://www.overclockers.com/tips607/index.asp

Neat, huh? The problem is that you have to register it to use it past the trial period, and there doesn't seem to be any way to register it. (If you speak Japanese and you figure it out, please tell me! :P )

The good news is that you can extend your trial period by deleting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Softhouse333\wbxtune\AuthorizationCode.

Here is the software (no longer available from the author's site, as far as I can tell), reg.exe (Microsoft registry manipulation tool from the Windows NT4 reskit), and a batch file (smackbx.bat) that uses reg.exe to extend your trial period, all in one handy zip file.

Enjoy!

You can also find it here: http://www.bp6.com/board/dload.php?acti ... &file_id=5

Do you have to run windows to use this program?

How come none of the hacked/modified bioses have more memory timing support if it is changeable through registry, it should be in bios, no?
