Should I buy a VP6?

Post by jaybird »

I have a chance to buy a VP6 that has only seen a couple of weeks of light duty. Price is well under $100 USD. It looks like I can move everything from my present BP6(sob!) to the VP6. I dearly want to go back to dual CPU's!

I have 2 PIII 1100, 100 mhz fsb cpu's and am running one on my BP6 @ 110 fsb as we speak. However, I need that little bit extra for video processing and don't have much money(layed off since June).

QUESTION: Is it worth it and are there any major "quirks" with VP6? How about over-clocking? Is it as good as the BP6?

Is there another dual PIII board that will allow me to use my 100 FSB CPU's ?

I plan to return my BP6 to its' original dual 366's @ 571 and use it as a server.
