when i atach my ata100 ibm hd to the ide 66
the bios does not see him
however the htp bios does see him clearly
but when i try to install the OS (freebsd but also others win 98, linux) the system freezes.
when i atach the HD to the ide33 their is no problem what so ever ?
i allready tried to install the os with the HD atached to the ide 33 and later atached it to the ide 66, but then the system freezes again after some bootmessages.
what am i doing wrong ?

When the hard drive is connected to IDE 3/4, the drive information will only show up in the HPT366 BIOS screen. What HPT366 BIOS level are you running?
Not sure what drivers are available for the FreeBSD. Usually, most newer OS releases/distros have HPT366 support built-in. You can get drivers for Win98/ME and Win2K/XP from this WEB site or from High Point Technology's WEB site.

jello, what IBM type is that exactly? The HPT66 seems to work with some recent models, but not with all (had difficulties with a Seagate 7200.7 80GB).
